Ed and I set out on a Sunday morning headed to Alabama...(I wanted to mark this state off my list!!--and now I have). We drove down the back roads of southwest Georgia and stopped to photograph everything we found interesting...First, we found this neighborhood (not really sure it was a neighborhood or another place that fell victim to the recession). We follow this half paved-half rocky road until found a bridge....once we were on the bridge we saw a trestle in the woods...of course Ed had to go on the trestle...not me!!! I photographed the surrounding area....
Moving along-we end up in this city or town named Blakely, Ga-the town looked like a Hollywood set-the store fronts didn't look real and this massive structure that was in the middle of the block was the court house, it didn't look real either...I decided to take some pictures of this beautiful courthouse...as I was taking pictures this man approached (I thought he was taking pictures as well) when he got closer I realized what I thought was a camera and/or flash hanging from his backpack was actually a water bottle...He asked me if Ed was my husband, I quickly thought..hmmmm he's kinda cute, do I tell the truth or drive Ed insane....(Ed by the way was across the street)!!! I told the truth!! lol....He wanted to know if I wanted to photograph the inside of the courthouse----strange especially post 911...I of course said yes--being the explorer and not very afraid of much....We all three went inside....I photographed while Ed removed his head from his butt and became friendly...Shannon just so happened to be the Assistant District Attorney...He allowed us into the courtroom and even told us of a book written by an archaeologist about Haiti and how he wants to go to Haiti and make a difference...I wonder if I could be of some help to him in that country with so many problems....ya never know who you are going to run into on my journeys...Shannon suggested a great place to eat...** Please see food photos in my post entitled
foodie! After lunch we continued down the road until finally crossing the Chattahoochee River into Alabama....We ended this journey in Dothan, Alabama.....GREAT city...this city is known for their murals...and they were beautiful....
